Agility Open Workouts
Lou Ann O'Malley is coordinator. There is no instructor for the workouts but Lou Ann (and others) will be available to help with training issues or answer questions.
- 6:30-8:30 p.m. each Wednesday.
- Dogs must be working at Beginning 3 level to participate.
- Dogs must have basic obedience skills: Come (recall), sit, down, stay and MUST be able to work off leash.
- Dogs must have had prior instruction in agility and be able to SAFELY complete the dog walk and A frame.
- Dogs must be able to complete at least a short sequence of obstacles.
- Dogs will be given 2 minutes to run the course and/or work on any training issue the handler wants to practice. For instance, if your dog is having trouble with the weaves, you could spend your 2 minutes working weave poles only. Or if your dog can do everything except the teeter at full height, you could run the course and skip the teeter. You could use your 2 minutes to perfect your contacts, or work on sit-stays at the start line, etc.
- Usually there is enough time for each dog to run the course up to 3 times during the workout.
